Warning Labels Added to Acetaminophen Products

by Rachel Baker on September 5, 2013

Acetaminophen overdoses and acute liver failure are problems that can accompany the use of Acetaminophen, rather than changing the dosages to lower amounts, Tylenol is going to just put warning labels on their products beginning in October.

Don’t be so quick to pop an over-the-counter pill to feel better, especially if it contains acetaminophen: Beginning in October, Extra Strength Tylenol bottles will come with an acetaminophen warning. Caps will now say, “CONTAINS ACETAMINOPHEN” and “ALWAYS READ THE LABEL.” Tylenol reps say the company plans to roll out the warning message on the bottles of all of its products some time after that.
