Lance Armstrong Settles with Sunday Times

All media outlets are reporting about the settlement between Lance Armstrong and the British newspaper, The Sunday Times. Here’s the story from NBCNews, since The Sunday Times requires a subscription for the full article.

Disgraced U.S. cyclist Lance Armstrong has agreed a settlement payout with the British newspaper that first reported the likely role of performance-enhancing drugs in his Tour de France, its publishers said Sunday.

The Sunday Times reported Sunday that it had reached a “mutually acceptable final resolution” to its legal bid to recover about $1.56 million from the 41-year-old sportsman.

Armstrong successfully sued the newspaper for libel over a 2004 article that suggested he had cheated, eventually winning more than $400,000.
