Netanyahu to Address U.S. Congress

So, if you were watching the State of the Union, you know the President said he would veto any legislation that toughens sanctions on Iran. Well, less than 24 hours later, the Speaker of the House has invited Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak to a joint session of Congress about the threats that radical Islam and Iran are to our “national security and way of life”.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has accepted and is slated to make the address on February 11, 2015.

It will be incredibly interesting to see what Congress does after this event – will they vote to toughen sanctions on Iran in regards to the country’s nuclear program or will they heed the President’s warning to not screw up the negotiations as they are thus far.

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to address a joint meeting of Congress on Feb. 11.

“In this time of challenge, I am asking the prime minister to address Congress on the grave threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life,” Boehner said in a statement.
