I know virtually nothing about college softball, North Central Texas College, or being a member of a team sport for that matter. I do know this is a horrific tragedy which will affect the North Central Texas College family for quite a long time. It wouldn’t be surprising if this didn’t affect the whole collegiate softball family network. I hope they are all able to find an inner peace to help get through the next few months.
Don’t be surprised to hear the comeback story of the Lady Lions in the future. It may not be this year, but you can bet they will be a team to watch, as they come back with resolve from this horrific tragedy.
Four female college softball players were killed and a dozen others were injured when their bus was involved in a crash on an Oklahoma highway late on Friday.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. local time (8 p.m. EDT) when a semi truck crossed over a median into oncoming traffic north of Ardmore, Oklahoma and collided with the bus, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain Ronnie Hampton said.
Three members of the “Lady Lions” North Central Texas College softball team were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth player died after being taken to a local hospital, Hampton said.
